I have now been in Japan for over 10 months. I have been living in a small rural town, and attempting to teach Eigo to Nihon-jins who really can't be arsed. But i have done some awesome travelling and had some amazing experiences!

week 26

another quick catch up due to mad schedule and time disappearing like nobodys business...

a good week with tennis, tea ceremony, taiko and my english lesson.

on saturday after a quick run i headed into fukui for another taiko practice before our performance at shima-san's work place!it was the funniest performance!!! first we watched some shamisen players which was ace, and then we performed. i was a lot more confident and comfortable at this performance which was cool...that was until however, meagan and i were asked to sing infront of everyone!! so after much deliberation, we sang a snippet of bohemian rhapsody!! so funny, especially when they asked the meaning of the song!? but it was a great laugh and we got to drink a weird random drink which is the left overs from making saki. i had so much fun.

after this meagan and i set up camp in cocos to exchange photos from cambodia. this was time well spent and reminded me of all the experiences we had over xmas. :) that evening i ate sushi with jill and jordana and we headed to fukui for a short time to watch some alts play music.

on sunday i was up pretty early for a spot of floor volleyball with blind people in fukui! it was mad and violent! the ball is hit with hands from one side of a net to the other. the ball has to go underneath the net. there are 6 people on each side of the court, with three at the front wearing goggles to ensure they can see nothing. it was so interesting to see how accurate, talented and strong these people were, it was a fantastic game!
